RTM Newsletter - February 2023

Admin

Updated: Feb 11, 2023

Hello RTM family! A late happy new year from the RTM team!

With the new year comes a sense of renewal, moving forward with positivity and purpose. Thank you for being part of Rise Together Mission - whether you've been with us every step of the way or have just joined.

2022 was a foundational year when RTM started its official operations in Rwanda. There were many ups and downs, but looking back, we can't help but be full of gratitude for the grace of God and all the support from our supporters like you. 2023 will be a year of growth for RTM from its infancy to a more stable organization poised to expand its impact in future years.

To that end, our goal for 2023 is to run more fundraising campaigns to build financial stability for our programs and enhance the relationship between RTM and the community. We also commit to sharing more frequent updates. So please stay tuned!

EXCITING NEWS!

Registration In Rwanda

In August 2021, RTM obtained registration in Rwanda as an international non-governmental organization (INGO) for a year. After a successful year of supporting our children and families in Rwanda, we are happy to announce that RTM's INGO registration has been extended for another four years. A big shout-out to our team in Rwanda, who has been tirelessly serving the children and families!

Future Home of RTM Rwanda HQ and Education Centre!

In Q4 2022, RTM was able to purchase a parcel of land (around 4.7 acres) near Kanazi in Bugesera District for building our future headquarters and a multi-purpose education centre for our children. This was a tremendous milestone and couldn't have been possible without the generous support from our dedicated donors. Pray for this land and the life-changing ministry that will unfold there. If you want to see the land from Google Maps, click these coordinates: 2°10'27.4"S 30°04'02.6"E.

Meet Our New Country Manager!

George Ndaruhuye

Sam, our former Country Director, had an opportunity to follow his dream of moving to the US. Since then, Johnson Karamuzi, a well-respected Christian NGO expert in Rwanda, has graciously supported RTM's operations and administrative management.

With our registration renewal, we felt our Rwanda team needed a new leader to open the next chapter of our journey. And we are excited to announce that George Ndaruhuye, a long-time member of RTM who played a critical role in getting RTM to where it is, has agreed to take on the responsibility of managing the RTM Rwanda team!

For many years before RTM's birth as an organization, George helped Joelle as an interpreter and a local guide. In 2021, George officially joined RTM as the Parent Support Lead and interpreter but has served much broader roles than his job descriptions. In his new role, effective February 2023, George will manage the Rwanda team, its day-to-day operations, government relations, and various reporting activities. Congratulations, George!

DECEMBER-TO-REMEMBER

We did it!

A huge thank you to those who participated in our December-to-Remember campaign. Thanks to your contribution, we were able to give umbrellas and rainboots to 31 children and parents. Your gift keeps them dry on a wet day and cool on a hot sunny day!
