There is no one-size-fits-all way to educate and support children with disabilities.  Special education and the support program must be tailored to meet the individual needs and the specific contexts.

The issue is that the contexts and individual needs of children in our program are extremely complex. It is so complex and unique that the special education programs operating in the city of Kigali are not compatible with the children and families in our program. RTM's goal is to focus on collecting more information and data in 2022 and 2023 through our Kanazi and Ntunga programs to be able to develop an effective, holistic support model for children with disabilities and their families living in rural areas. Once the support model is developed, we will implement the program in other areas of Rwanda in partnership with local churches and schools.
